Location and EnvironmentOrgnac l'Aven is located on a high plateau between the Gorges de l'Ardèche and the valley of the Cèze with the Vallee du Rhône in the east and the mountains of the Cévennes in the west. It is surrounded by oak forests, vineyards, and lavender fields. It is a very central and quit place. Orgnac L'Aven is the ideal departure point for excursions to the rivers of Ardèche and Cèze for swimming or to the Provence, Carmargue, and the mountains of the Cevénnes. Numerous wine cellards of the Côtes du Rhône invite you to try famous wines such as Chateauneuf du Pape, Lirac, Tavel, or Côte du Vivarais Orgnac (just approx. 900 m away from your Résidence la Cigale) The kitchen of the Ardèche is a successful composition of trends in taste of the Provence, the kitchen of Lyon, with influences from the Auvergne. Apartments and PricesYou will find Résidence la Cigale on a 3000 m² property in the woods, less than 1 km away from Orgnac L'Aven. The modern apartments are build and furnished in the style of the Provence. They all have a seperate terrace with panoramic view on the mountains of the Cévennes. Shady places invite you to barbecue or just stay in the open. In the village there are a bakery, a butcher as well as a grocery shop open through the whole year, and three restaurants will serve you typical meals from the Provence.

Ativities and Objects of InterestThe mediterranean climate gives you the possibilty to do all kinds of outdoor sports such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tennis, biking, walking, and hiking in the nature reserves of the Gorges de l'Ardeche, horse riding, climbing and much more. Not far away you will find a golf course also, which is not only for experienced players.
In addition you can do excursions to the Carmague and the mediterranean sea, for example to St. Maries-de-la-Mer, Aiges Mortes, Grau du Roi and Port Camargue. The area is famous for its numerous and well known grottos along the Ardèche and nearby, two of them directly located in Orgnac (Aven d'Orgnac, Grand Site de France, and Aven de la Forestière). Trips to the most famous cultural sights of southern france such as Orange (40 km), Avignon (65 km), Nîmes (85 km), Uzès, Arles, Pont du Gard, Vaison la Romaine, Les Baux de Provence and so on, will enrich your stay. A special experience for the whole family is a visit to the zoo in the Camargue or in the famous bamboo garden La Bambouseraie in Anduze. You can use bicycles and boule games for free at the Résidence La Cigale. In addition we will organize kajaks and canoes for you if needed (our local partner Les Bateaux du Pont).
